Sandra Storey
I am a maker of objects. With my work I like to capture a single moment within an ongoing story. I create creatures both familiar and mythical in an attempt to embody simple, human feelings…memories. The animal images come from being a Native Canadian, the rich and scary fairy tales of my childhood and the influences of my immediate environment. Each sculpture I create is an original. I work on a scale that encompasses life sized pieces right down to tiny pieces and personal amulets.
